DOX conjugated bovine serum albumin (BSA) NPs can target proinflammatory neutrophils and induce their apoptosis in situ. DOX is conjugated to NPs through a pH-labile hydrazone bond, which can be cleaved by the low PH environment in activated neutrophils to release DOX and induce neutrophil apoptosis.
